Known for heartfelt lyrics and high-energy shows, Ben and his band have been lighting up local stages with original tunes and rich harmonies that speak to Vermont’s spirit and storytelling tradition since 2015. Ben Kogan graduated from the University of Miami for Jazz Bass. He briefly lived in Boston for 2 years where he performed with musicians that have become household names (Rubblebucket, Lake Street Dive, and David Wax Museum, Billy Wylder, Hey Mama) Following that he spent 12 years in NYC and Brooklyn, and recently moved to Woodstock, VT in 2021 with his wife and son. While Kogan is a trained jazz bass player he has picked up acoustic, electric guitar, and songwriting along the way. In fact, he spent a year or so studying bluegrass guitar with bluegrass legend Michael Daves. Ben Kogan is also one of the co-organizers of Imagine Zero and Founder of Reusable Solutions. He currently lives in Barnard, VT. This show is a rare, full band show with drums and we promise to play at least one christmas tune. We've been playing alot this past year and the band is really coming together. The band is a collective of talented Vermont musicians. This show features: Ben Kogan-Vocals, Upright Bass, Guitar(s) Justin Park-Mandolin, Vocals, Bass Marc Edwards-Guitar, Vocals Ian Koeller-Drums Here’s a video from our last full band show at town hall Woodstock town hall May 31 https://youtu.be/N3GrBYFmquk?si=3we5JO5xrzUx5fr7 About the rumney sessions: Get ready to keep the fires of community spirit burning beyond the summer months, as we warmly introduce “Rumney Sessions”, the extended edition of the beloved “Feast & Field” event. Starting October, join us on Thursday evenings at 5:30 pm at Fable Farm, for a spirited celebration of community; local, organic food & drink, and local music - by musicians or collective jam sessions. While the fires blaze, togetherness and music fill the orchard; in the Rumney Barn, we invite you to savor wood-fired flatbread pizzas, hearty soup, craft cocktails, and Fable Farm Fermentory wines and ciders - some warmed!
