VT Bluegrass Pioneers
Join early for a family workshop at 11 AM with Acoustic Nomads. Musicians of all ages – Bring an instrument.
The workshop will introduce participants to the band’s instruments—upright bass, guitar, Venezuelan cuatro, fiddle, and mandolin—demonstrating how they interact to create a cohesive sound. Children and families will explore how musicians take turns on the melody, support each other, and build musical conversations. The workshop will also highlight the rich musical traditions of the Americas, tracing the indigenous, African, and European influences that shape the band’s repertoire.
Stick around after the show at 3 pm to learn a song and jam with the band.

At the crossroads of Northern Americana and South American Folklore a Berklee-trained band of rising stars is taking the acoustic music scene by storm. Acoustic Nomads blends together music from two continents to create soaring original melodies, playful improvisations, and driving grooves that sweep listeners away on a musical journey from the Appalachians to the Andes!

Banjo Dan Lindner and his mandolin-playing brother, Willy Lindner, met versatile musician Danny Coane at a music festival in Milton, Vermont in 1971. Time passed. Dan and Willy formed Banjo
Dan; the Midnite Plowboys, a band that recorded prolifically and toured throughout the Northeast and abroad. The Plowboys ended a 40-year career in 2012. Danny, meanwhile, became one of Vermont’s best-known musicians, playing nationally with award-winning honky tonk heroes, the Starline Rhythm Boys. In 2016, these three bluegrass stalwarts teamed up as the aptly named VT Bluegrass Pioneers. Soon they recruited former Plowboy Sam Blagden to join them on bass and tenor harmonies.
