 ale Gilmore are bringing their soulful blend of country\, blues\, folk an
 d “guitar-bashing rock and roll” to the Bellows Falls Opera House on

 d multiple-Grammy-nominee Jimmie Dale Gilmore decided to join forces and p
 lay some music together. Although Texas born Gilmore was twice named Count
 ry Artist of the Year by Rolling Stone\, and California native Alvin fir
 st came to fame in the hard rocking rhythm and blues band The Blasters\, t
 hey discovered that their musical roots in old blues and folk music were e
 xactly the same. Naturally enough\, that led to collaboration\, and the du
 o have recorded two critically acclaimed albums\, TexiCali and Downey t
 o Lubbock\, and have toured behind both\, rocking the stage with a full ba
 nd.\n\nAs they hit the road in 2026\, this time they are billing themselve
 s as the Almost Acoustic Duo. Friends for over 30 years\, their lively sho
 ws feature songs from the duo’s albums\, as well as classic original com
 positions from their individual albums\, while swapping songs\, telling st
 ories\, and sharing their life experiences on stage.\n\n“Jimmie and I ha
 ve been extremely blessed\,” muses Alvin. “People will go with us thro
 ugh a lot of our musical moods because a good song can be done a million d
 ifferent ways.”\n\nJoining the duo will be\, as Alvin recently put it\, 
 “rock and roll legend\, guitarist\, writer\, songwriter\, garage DJ\, Pa
 tti Smith bandleader and all round solid cat\,” Lenny Kaye. Kaye\, at a
 ge 78\, has just released his debut album\, and was recently the subject o
 f a long feature in Rolling Stone.\n\nSo what should audiences expect? Da
 ve Alvin reports from the road that “Mr Kaye joined us on guitar for mor
 e than a few songs and we had a good ol’ rocking and rolling blast. Afte
 rwards he happily exclaimed\, ‘I guess we’re a band now!’ You never 
 know\, Mr Kaye. Stranger things have happened….”\n\nBoth Gilmore and A
 lvin have played Bellows Falls before\, Gilmore as part of the Green Mount
 ain Express music train and Alvin as headliner at the late\, great Roots o
