 , community-devised performance commissioned by the Chandler Center for th
 e Arts with and for the Randolph\, Vt community. Performers from Strike An
 ywhere will perform a residency to collectively devise the piece with comm
 unity members. The performance will then be performed by local residents a
 longside Strike Anywhere’s professional ensemble of jazz musicians\, dan
 cers and actors. The performance will be Soundpainted.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

 is the universal sign language for live composition with improvisers. A co
 nductor signs to the ensemble - offering parameters within which to improv
 ise. The performers respond by improvising according to the signed gesture
 s. The technique is employed in over 33 countries worldwide. Strike Anywhe
 re is the preeminent ensemble in the United States practicing the performa
 nce technique.The performance will be followed by a post-show facilitated 
 dialogue\, allowing audience members to engage in meaningful conversations
  on topics raised by the performance. Ways to get engaged in local efforts
  will be on hand for audience members who feel so inclined.\n\n\n
