Chandler Gallery presents Natural Forms, an intimate new exhibition by Jim Sardonis, the sculptor behind Vermont’s iconic whale tails. This thoughtful show traces Sardonis’ artistic evolution through works in bronze, stone, wood, and plaster—offering a rare look into the creative process behind his monumental public art.

This stunning exhibit will open with a reception for the artist and community on Saturday, August 2nd from 4–6 PM. The Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 12 to 5 PM through September 13th.

Best known for Reverence and Whale Dance, Sardonis reveals a quieter, more personal side of his work through maquettes, models, and studies of the organic forms that have defined his career. The exhibit invites visitors to engage not just with the final pieces, but with the ideas and materials that shaped them.

On Saturday, August 9 at 4:00 PM, Sardonis will give an artist talk at Chandler Gallery, sharing the stories and inspirations behind his work—including the creation of the whale tails sculptures that have become part of Randolph’s visual identity. This event is free and open to the public.

In celebration of the exhibit, Chandler Gallery is also hosting a special raffle to support gallery renovations. Sounding, a bronze sculpture mounted on locally sourced Verde Antique marble, has been generously donated by the artist. Raffle tickets are available at the gallery and online through December 21.
