Amazing Rockfire in Websterville

In 2 weeks, Saturday September 14, perhaps the final Rockfire after 12
years will take place.
If you don't know what Rockfire is you should check it out. It starts out
in daylight at a beautiful meadow up above Barre surrounded by historic
granite quarries with music and firey performances and food trucks or your
own picnics. Pierre Couture is the founder of this Festival and it has
gotten more fantastic over the years. Pierre started it to raise money for
the Barre Town Forest and to help preserve the woods that have grown up
around 50 retired granite quarries that have filled up with water and are a
sight to behold that are above the Rock of Ages quarries that are still
being worked.
It is a pretty fabulous evening! So many things happening in the beautiful
meadow white it is still light, and at dusk, don't miss the Iron Pour, then
a 2 mile hike along pathways lit by hundreds of candles out to the Great
LookOut. Beautiful walk or bike ride by daylight and magical at night with
performances and bonfires along the way.
