Antique Tractor Day in Coming to Billings Farm & Museum
Sunday, August 4, 10:00AM – 5:00PM
WOODSTOCK, VERMONT… Hear the distinct rumble of antique farm equipment coming to life for a day of tractors, tractors, and more tractors! Billings Farm & Museum’s 24th Annual Antique Tractor Day on Sunday, August 4, 10:00AM – 5:00PM, will feature Tractor Parades, a Slow Race, tractor-drawn wagon rides, crafts, lawn games, food, and more!
This event will showcase tractors predating 1980, including 7 models dating back to the 1930’s. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the tractor exhibitors and learn about each tractor’s unique story. Tractor Parades will take place at 12:00PM and 3:30PM, where an announcer will regale the crowd with fascinating facts about each tractor’s history, make, and model.
At 1:30PM, exhibitors will shift into their lowest gear for the “Slow Race,” where guests can cheer on their favorite machines. Children will enjoy riding pedal tractors through an obstacle course, making a tractor craft to take home, taking a tractor-drawn wagon ride, and enjoy stories about…you guessed it, tractors!
Guests can curb their appetite on wood-fired pizza from Goodman’s American Pie or the fresh, light lunch fare from the Sustainable Eats Food Truck, from 10:00AM – 5:00PM. What better complement to a delicious meal than a cool, Vermont-made ice cream from the Farmhouse Scoop Shop, open 10:00AM – 5:00PM.  Also available for purchase is the pure delight of fresh spun cotton candy.
In between tractor festivities, visitors are invited to wander the spectacular Sunflower House and flourishing Farmstead Gardens and peruse the stunning Quilt Exhibition.  While on site, guests can meet the farm’s animals, visit the Farm Life Exhibits and 1890 Farm Manager’s House, and follow the Barn Quilt Walk.  Don’t forget to stop by the Museum Gift Shop for a great selection of tractor-inspired gifts, mementos, and stuffies.  Be sure to enter the raffle for a chance to win a Pedal Tractor.  The drawing will take place before the final Tractor Parade at 3:30PM. The winner does not need to be present, and all raffle proceeds support the education scholarship fund at Billings Farm & Museum.
Billings Farm & Museum gratefully acknowledges Season Sponsor Townline Equipment, whose generous support advances our mission to share stories and educate the public about Vermont’s agricultural heritage. This year, Antique Tractor Day will be part of Dig In Vermont’s Open Farm Week, which features farm events across the state.  https://tinyurl.com/AntiqueTractorDay2024
