Community Quilting Bee and Closing Reception
Join us on March 28 for a Community Quilting Bee that celebrates creativity, conversation, and community connection. The day begins with a quilt and fabric share where neighbors can bring finished or in-progress quilts and swap extra materials. A short talk by Climate Change Quilt Project founder Pamela Mischen explores how quilting and “craftivism” can spark conversations about climate change and inspire action. In the afternoon, a hands-on workshop invites participants of all skill levels to help create quilt pieces for this nationwide project using provided materials. The day concludes with a gallery walk through Stitched Together: Quilts Tell American Stories and a closing reception with the exhibiting artists. Stick around for the Garifuna Collective as they take the Chandler stage at 7:00 PM, bringing their infectious grooves all the way from Belize for their 20th anniversary tour.
