A powerhouse vocalist and intrepid songwriter from western North Carolina, Flamy Grant blends country, folk, gospel, and roots music into a wholly original storytelling experience.

It’s no accident that Flamy’s drag name is an homage to Amy Grant — the undisputed queen of Christian music and ’90s chart-topping pop artist. Much of Flamy’s music (including her albums Bible Belt Baby and CHURCH) centers on the queer spiritual journey and recovery from religious trauma.

Armed with a blistering voice that Music Connection calls “a mix of Wynonna Judd smokiness and Dolly Parton realness [with] lyrics that sparkle as brightly as her rhinestone jumpsuit” Flamy invites audiences into a soulful, uplifting church of her own making.

Join us for an exclusive drag workshop with our fall artist-in-residence: Flamy Grant, a North Carolina-based Christian country singer-songwriter and drag queen.

The workshop is open to participants at any stage of their drag journey — kings, queens, and all drag performers are welcome! Get ready with Flamy and learn more about the process of becoming drag royalty. Attendees will practice live drag, with the chance to show off their new skills with an optional performance during a private reception following the event.

Join LOH, our fall artist-in-residence Flamy Grant, and featured artist Sam Paolini for a vibrant community art making moment.

Whether you’re a novice or an expert, everyone is welcome to help make squares for a rainbow flag community quilt. Enjoy the chance to chat with Flamy during the art making, while Sam offers their guidance to participants as they bring color to their sections. Art making will include painting, drawing, sewing, and more to fit everyone’s art style. The full quilt will be displayed on November 6 at First Congregational Church of Lebanon during Flamy Grant’s culminating performance.
