Shawn Camp and Jim Rooney, two legends of Bluegrass and Americana music get together for a song swap to remember!
Shawn is a bold and distinctive singer, a multi instrumentalist, and a brilliant songwriter. As lead singer with the Grammy winning Bluegrass band The Earls of Leicester, Shawn was named the IBMA Male Vocalist of the Year in 2015.
And if a musician is to be judged by the company they keep, few could provide a list with names such as those who have employed Shawn Camp as a singer/songwriter/session musician/band member/producer. These are only a few: Willie Nelson, Guy Clark, John Prine, Loretta Lynn, Garth Brooks, Merle Haggard, Emmylou Harris!
Grammy winning producer Jim Rooney is best known for his work with Nanci Griffith, John Prine, Iris DeMent, and Hal Ketchum, again to name only a few! Jim is a musician, songwriter, recording engineer – you name it, he has probably done it! Jim has been involved in music ever since he first appeared on the WCOP “Hayloft Jamboree” as a teenager in Boston in 1954. For over 50 years Jim partnered with the legendary banjo player Bill Keith, recording several landmark recordings together.
