Book Discussion
Join our Book Club on Tuesday, August 26th at 6:15 PM for a discussion of The Light Pirate, led by special guest and VT Humanities facilitator, Rachael Cohen.
1800 and Froze to Death: The Cold Year of 1816
We will also be hosting a VT Speakers Bureau talk related to the book! On September 10th, join historian Howard Coffin for a discussion on 1816, known as the year without summer. Vermonters still call it “1800 and Froze to Death,” a year of frosts every month, dark skies, and mysterious lights that caused a widespread belief that a higher power was displeased.
