10-11:30 am Intro to Biodynamic Gardening- with John Mellquist
Biodynamics is a unique approach to farming and gardening, first suggested by the Austrian philosopher Rudolph Steiner in 1924, and today practiced by thousands of people in more than 50 countries worldwide. Although many practices in Biodynamics are similar to those of organic gardening, the method takes a more holistic approach, recognizing cosmic influences on soil, plant and animal health, as well as local influences like the weather. Further, Biodynamics uses herbal and animal-based preparations, in homeopathic doses, to enliven both soil and plant health through the dissemination of a myriad of forces. These forces nourish the soil, resulting in dramatic improvements in the overall soil biology. They also support plant growth processes, such as photosynthesis and seed development. Well-grown Biodynamic crops tend to be sturdy, resistant to pests of all kinds, and imbued with superior flavor and nutrition when compared to organic or chemically-grown crops.”
The workshop will include a comprehensive annotated bibliography of Biodynamic sources. Your presenter, John Mellquist, has been gardening organically in the Upper Valley since 1972 and began working with Biodynamics in 2001. In 2013 he completed the one-year training in Biodynamics at the Pfeiffer Center in Spring Valley, New York.

12-1:30 pm Astrology: The 12 Signs from Aries to Pisces – with Zsuzsa Mellquist
Did you know that the signs of the Zodiac are not the same as the constellations they are named after? In this workshop, we will explore this difference – and so much more about how the twelve signs build on each other; and help us track Time from our Earth bound perspective.
You will leave this workshop with a new sense of clarity about why Astrology, through speaking the language of the Stars, can help us make sense of the great Above – so that we may better navigate our way through reality, and even thrive!

2-3:30 pmThe Tarot Toolbox – with Kevin Quigley
Kevin has been reading Tarot for more than 40 years and teaching Tarot for close to 30. BUT he does have a problem with the Tarot – it is really hard to learn. To read these things well, in a traditional way, takes more than a year of study, and even more than that if you want to master it. True.
So, he’s been on a decades-long quest to find ways to better teach these techniques and to create some new ones that can be picked up by nearly anyone and used right away. In this workshop, he will be teaching three tools that beginning and experienced readers can put into their tool kit right away and use them. One of them, in particular, can be used in a zillion different ways even outside of doing consultations for people… it doesn’t even require you to have a deck of cards with you.
So, bring your favorite deck with you (Kevin will have some loaners if needed) and get ready to roll up your sleeves to work with these images and with each other. It’s going to be a blast!
