Waterways concert and recital – Annemieke McLane, Becky Bailey, and Jim Schley

As part of her Winter series of “Winter Wonders” concerts, pianist Annemieke
McLane will be joined by singer Becky Bailey and poet Jim Schley in
“Waterways,” a program of water-themed piano compositions, songs, and poetry.

Please join us on Sunday, March 9, from 4 to 5:15 p.m., at the United Church
of Strafford, 230 Justin Morrill Highway, Strafford, Vermont 05072.

The concert will feature piano works by Debussy, Mendelssohn, and W. C. Simon;
songs by Chausson, Vaughan Williams, folksongs collected by Cecil Sharp, and
the Annie Lennox/Howard Shore/Fran Walsh anthem “Into the West" from the third
LORD OF THE RINGS film; and poetry by Seamus Heaney, Louise Bogan, William
Butler Yeats, Vermont poets John Engels and Mel Goertz, and others.

We invite audience members to contribute what they choose to give; a
percentage of the concert donations will be given to the Manheim Fund for
Music and the Arts, which supports performances at the church.
