WOODSTOCK VERMONT FILM SERIES PRESENTS “THE SWAN SONG” on 1/4 & 1/5, 3PM AT BILLINGS FARM

Stunning, graceful, and magical on the surface, ballet often conceals a
darker reality behind the scenes. Join us for “Swan Song” at 3:00PM on
Sat, Jan 4 & Sun, Jan 5, an intimate look at the discipline, beauty, and
complexity of this captivating art form—both on and off the stage. This
powerful film follows ballet icon Karen Kain as she directs a
legacy-defining production of “Swan Lake” at the National Ballet of
Canada. On the eve of her retirement after her 50-year career, we see
Kain and a group of young dancers drawn from the National Ballet of
Canada’s ranks, weaving Swan Lake’s dramatic creation process with
intimate scenes from the subjects’ personal lives as they push toward one
of the most significant opening nights in their company’s history.
